Integrated Media Strategies has been extensively involved in communications for economic development for more than ten years, primarily in 21st century job sectors such as biopharmaceuticals, industrial biotech, renewable fuels, advanced manufacturing and healthcare.

Our track record has been outstanding.  The principal helped lead a consortium in North Carolina to grow the biomanufacturing industry in a three year period by more than $3bn in new investments and expansions, including the Merck vaccine facility and the Novartis pandemic facility.  In the renewable fuels sector, casemaking and positioning of low-cost energy grasses as a strategic resource helped attract BioChemtex to build a $250 million cellulosic ethanol facility.  Sustained communications about specialized workforce development programs for the advanced manufacturing sector led to economic development totalling nearly $2bn in a two year period in largely rural counties.

In most instances, these successes were the result of working with consortiums made up of state government, higher education, industry, workforce development and economic development agencies.  We worked on obtaining buy in at senior levels and then assembled the appropriate staff from a variety of organizations to develop and implement consensus-based messaging for consistent positioning. This resulted in sustained, credible, consistent positioning in the critical areas of interest to attract industry and build casemaking for economic development.
